A Regatta in Hanko

The Hanko Regatta was an annual tradition of mine for a long time; the best part of each summer, to be honest. But after several years, I have a hard time finding even a handful of pictures from the event that would in any way be appropriate for public viewing. For some reason most of them feature copious amounts of alcohol, nudity and other stupid summer adventures. Wonderfully stupid summer adventures.

The event is an actual regatta, with an official sailing competition taking place off the coast of the beautiful Finnish town of Hanko. But for me – and for most people there – it is a summer party that lasts for several days, moving from yacht to yacht, morning to night and night to morning, without end in sight.

There are several nightclubs, as well as the obligatory afterparties on boats or sunrise parties on the pier… I never get much sleep during the Regatta weekend, but it’s always provided me the best times of my life. Totally carefree, happy, and insanely fun.
