Finland is known for its rich natural reserves of wild berries, wild herbs and a multitude of mushrooms. Finland’s forests really are beaming with natural treasures, just waiting to be discovered!
The calendar for foraging in Finland is very specific: early summer is the best time to collect some stinging nettle, late summer is best for blueberries, raspberries and currants, and early autumn is the perfect time to head deep into the forest and find some delicious (and healthy) mushrooms.
