The shady streets of Hong Kong’s Sheung Wan have two very distinct personas. Walk along the streets during the day and you’ll be met with a feverishly frenetic neighborhood filled with an odd combination of old and new, modern and traditional.
After dark the streets suddenly become a sleepy ghost town, with shadows at play everywhere. There’s not only an absence of people but also of sound. An eery atmosphere takes over the nights in Sheung Wan that is difficult to explain. It might just be one of those things that needs to be experienced.
