Singapore’s Little India is one of the most energetic and colorful of all the ethnic neighborhoods in this multicultural city-state. There are surprising new sights, sounds and scents on every corner, making sure visitors get at least a small piece of the cultural shock they could expect to get in India.
Ornate hindu temples adorn nearly every street. Women dressed in colorful saris sit by the side of the road making and selling flower wreaths. Every now and then Bollywood music begins to blare so loud it startles even the locals. It really does feel like India, just a whole lot cleaner.
Tekka Centre is Little India’s own Hawker Center, offering nearly limitless options for tasty treats from both Indian and Arabic cuisines. There may be the occasional pigeon flying inside the food halls, but that only adds to the authentic atmosphere.
