The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is one of Singapore’s biggest attractions, located in Chinatown. The temple was built to house a tooth of the historical Buddha. This tooth is on display on an upper floor of the temple, but it’s not the only thing that lures visitors in.
The magnificent temple is an impressive sight, both inside and out. The temple also has a museum focused on Buddhism. Simple vegetarian food is served free of charge in the basement of the temple, though donations to the cause are appreciated. And there’s a secret garden on the rooftop…
The main hall of the temple is full of red and gold
A million little Buddhas
The pagoda at the center of the rooftop garden is an impressive sight
The Orchid Garden on the rooftop of the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple is a wonderful world of flowers and palm trees. This surprisingly lush tropical garden has a variety of orchids, some water features and a small pagoda. There are also benches where you can take a seat and enjoy a moment of silence.
The scene outside the temple is far from peaceful and quiet
