Hvar is one of the prettiest places I’ve ever visited. The Croatian island is nestled along the lovely Dalmatian coast, surrounded by turquoise waters and filled with lush greenery and old limestone facades.
The small and idyllic island is bustling with life and refinement. Walking around the atmospheric old town feels like touring the set of a historic epic like Gladiator or Ben-Hur.
The island is especially popular among boat people – the marina is filled with sailboats and yachts, some nearly as large as the island itself. The promenade has excellent seafood restaurants and champagne bars, all catering to the more discerning clientele. Regardless, the atmosphere remains very relaxed and informal.
